Palm Beach Post | Sea and Sand inspire residence at One Thousand Ocean

When The Decorators Unlimited firm in Palm Beach Gardens was asked to furnish a model residence at One Thousand Ocean in Boca Raton, inspiration for the interiors came easy.

Because the new condominium was constructed on the point of a private peninsula with water on three sides, an ocean theme prevails.

Featuring four bedrooms and 4 ½ baths, the large residence provides about 4,300 square feet of air-conditioned living space. Two outdoor living spaces add approximately 950 exterior square feet.

Also setting the stage for the inviting design: the private elevator landing, great room, gourmet eat-in kitchen with a butler’s pantry, dining room, Florida room, and a master suite featuring a his-and-her dressing room and a spa-style bath.

This is a “through” residence which welcomes in natural light and provides breezy cross-ventilation.

“We incorporated a clean, soft, contemporary design style with elegant, clean-lined, classically tailored furniture. In addition, there are a lot of varied textures in the fabric selections,” said Bob Martin, the firm’s principal.

Bruce Linthicum, a senior designer at The Decorators Unlimited, used a color palette of off-white, beige and sand. He accessorized this neutral background with variations and punches of color from the ocean and beach.

"The neutral selections carry the eye toward the magnificent views and maximize them. These neutrals also create a light and soothing setting for ocean-to-Intracoastal living," Linthicum explained.

"Our primary objective was to fashion interior and outdoor living spaces that would be sophisticated, contemporary and comfortable- while also being exciting," he added. "We achieved this with a setting that reflects a serene beach lifestyle that takes in the exquisite surroundings of the water, the adjacent Boca Raton Resort & Club's Beach Club, and the city."

The design firm collaborated with the developer regarding m any of the appointments in this model.

Said Martin: "We were ecstatic to be part of the team working with the developer of such a premier and sophisticated condominium property."

One Thousand Ocean features 52 one-and two-story beach villas, residences and penthouses within a curved, nautilus-shaped landmark.

These homes average about 4,000 square feet of air-conditioned living space.

In addition, terraces provide approximately 1,200 square feet.

Prices range from about $3 million to more than $15 million.
